After your tour through Boston's streets and in the Charles River, visit one of Boston Harbor's precious islands, Little Brewster. The history of the Boston Harbor Islands dates back to the early 1600's when Native Americans used them as trading posts. The islands were a vital part of Boston's success by supporting its trade, aiding in its protection and increasing its vitality.
This package offers a special visit to the country's first lighthouse, Boston Light. You will depart from Fan Pier on an hour cruise where you can enjoy a delicious tote lunch from Fresh City while viewing 3 other lighthouses on your trip out to the island. You will also receive a one-hour narrated harbor tour highlighting the maritime traditions in Boston Harbor and its islands. Once you arrive at Boston Light, a friendly park ranger who will teach you about the light station's history. During the American Revolution, the British demolished the light tower. Today's tower was built in 1783. Meet the US Coast Guard light keeper and discover island life, past and present.
